It’s the first day of Spring! A time of birth and renewal.
The longer days, the budding greenery, and warmer weather give us an opportunity to renew anything and everything about our lives that may need a bit of dusting off. In the spirit of the season, I have some thoughts on how to hit the refresh button on you love life.
Relationship Spring Cleaning Checklist
1. Refresh Your Attitude
Your attitude should be as fresh and new as everything else spring brings. If old relationships are still lingering in your closet, toss them in the trash. They’re taking up valuable real estate. Understand that losing time, energy and sleep over the past will not serve you. Decide today to clear out the clutter and make space for someone new in your life. Old relationships and partnerships that didn’t work out were not failures – they were cycles of growth, preparing us for our future.
2. Get A Growth Mindset
You don’t need a new relationship to feel better. You need to feel better to find a new relationship. The more you give to yourself, the more you’ll attract a man who wants to continue adding to your growth and happiness. You’ll never regret the time you spent on self-exploration. Right now, while you’re single. It’s the best time to focus on the most important person in your life, YOU. It’s not selfish. It’s self-care.
3. Take a Spring Break
Working at your love life can feel like a second job. So, take a break. Not from connection, conversations and meeting new people, but the work itself. The journey to love shouldn’t be a struggle so it’s important to recognize when you’re putting in too much effort and not enough flow. Hit the reset button on your approach. Love is in the receiving, not the searching.
4. Tend To Your Garden
Mastering your love life shouldn’t mean ignoring your passions, friends, health, home and personal goals. Take care of your life so when the right man walks in, you’re attracting someone who sees your overall well-being and ability to lead your life with grace, clear vision and confidence. Healthy life. Healthy relationships.
5. Spring into Action
Try something totally new this month. Write down what you’ve been avoiding, whether it’s writing to someone you’re interested in, downloading a dating app, trying a new hobby, or taking yourself out on a weekly date (yes, that can be terrifying when you’re solo, but so worth it), and schedule it into your calendar. You know it’s not going to happen if it isn’t planned, so commit and make it happen. Bold action is required right now. Know the difference between your fear and intuition. Springing into a new action can feel a little uncomfortable, but that only means you’re on the right track.
Reset. Renew. Recharge.
Happy Spring!
